Mistake 15: Not fasting because of exams or work
Exams or work is not one of the excuses allowed by the Shari’ah to not fast. You can do your studying and revision at night if it is too hard to do it during the day. Also remember that pleasing and obeyingAllaah is much more important than ‘good grades’. Besides, if you will fulfill your obligation to fast, even if you have to study, Allaah will makeyour studies and other activities easy for you and help you in everything you do. ‘Whosoever fears Allah, He will appoint for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect, Allah is Sufficient forwhosoever puts his trust in Him. The History of the Compilation of the Qur-aan [LONG LECTURE] by Navaid Aziz
This is part of a series of lectures on the sciences of the Qur’aan delivered at the QSS centre in the summer of 2007. Navaid Aziz was born in Montreal, Canada. He finished his high school with honors from Centennial Regional High School. He then graduated from Champlain College in Commerce and Social Sciences. He completed his diploma in Arabic in Madina from 2000-2003, after which he has been pursuing his second year of the Sharee’ah faculty. He has studied under many great scholars including, and more specifically with: Saaleh As-Sindee, Ahmad Rashid Ar-Ruhaily, Saalih al-’Aqeel, and Ahmad Al-Ghunaymaan. Some of his close teachers have been Sh. Yasir Qadhi and Dr. Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips, as well as other illustrious personalities in Madina.
